Teal, Purple & Black look with Morgana Minerals + Club pics

Last night we went dancing and I did a look that I had in my head for a few days. I sort of had a 20's steampunk look going on. :-)  I love my flapper wig! We hung out with good friends, met new people and overall had a good time. Although I got a little too drunky! Those blasted chocolate martinis taste too good! That and I didn't eat very well. If I know I will be drinking, I have to eat a lot of food before hand or I get ill. Which my dumbass didn't do. So I didn't feel very well...but I'm fine now. XD

Workout for 8-12-10 Gilad and random stuff

So originally I was going to do Cathe's supersets workout with my hubby. But he came home not feeling well. He has severe allergies and took a Benadryl at work that made him tired and sluggish. So rather than going on without him, we decided to do a lighter workout so we could still do something together. We did a Gilad workout from the DVR which was recorded from fit tv. It was one I have not done before. Gilad is really good for beginners or people who want to work out but don't want to get crazy with it, if you know what I mean. He is especially great with working abs and the butt area IMO!
There wasn't a name for the particular workout we did. It said it was 30 mins and works your butt, quads, shoulders, biceps and abs. That's nice and all, but that's not a very balanced workout. What about triceps, chest, back or hamstrings???

With Gilad we did varying lunges with running arms, shoulder flies, bicep curls and abs. Um...yeah that wasn't much even for my honey bunny who wasn't feeling well.
So we did the workout but right before the abs part, I put it on pause and we both did extra exercises to make up for it (I did what I wanted and he did his own thing).

I don't remember how many sets or reps I did. I basically did each exercise until I felt I exhausted that muscle group.

I did all of these with 8 lbs. dumbells:
chest flies and presses laying on a mat
standing tricep overhead extensions and bent over extensions
rows for my upper back

Then I got on the stability ball to do lower back. I put my lower stomach on the ball with my legs straight and spread apart in a Y, put my hands behind my head (elbows aimed outward) and raised and lowered my upper body. You will feel this without any weights, but you can use weights if you want. I don't!

Then I used the ball for thigh/butt stuff. I laid on my back put my feet (heels) on the ball, straightened my legs and then raised my body off the floor so I was in a fairly straight line from shoulders to feet. Keeping the feet flexed, I brought my heels to my butt, rolling the ball towards my body then rolling the ball back out. Repeating that for a few sets...you will feel that in your hamstrings! There is a way to do this without flexing your bum so you concentrate only on the hamstrings. Some people find it hard to do, but with practice you will develope more body awareness and be able to do it without squeezing your booty. :-)  But if you want to squeeze your booty to work your bum, that is OK too!

Then I did inner thigh squeezes. I did them laying on my back, placing the ball between my knees (feet flat on the floor and knees aimed up) and did some in single counts, then some in 4 counts (squeezing/holding for 3 counts then resting for 1 count). Sounds easy but it hurts!

So this morning I can feel that I worked out but it still wasn't quite enough for me.  If I wasn't going out tonight, I would do the Cathe workout I originally planned to do last night. But I am going out so I will have to do the workout on Sunday (Saturdays are my rest days unless I do outdoor activities).
I hope my workouts make sense. I only described the stability ball exercises as they aren't traditional workouts like the ones I did with dumbbells. If you have any questions, please let me know.
I will be working on a list of stability ball exercises for a lovely lady who asked about it. Once I get that together, I will post it here. :-D  It might take me a while, but I will do it.

Hope you all are doing well!

Lime, Plum and Peach look with 88 Shimmer Palette

I used my shimmer palette again for this one. :-)  I also started using my 15% glycolic acid toner again to take a break from scrubbing. It makes my skin splotchy and a bit puffy/red for a few days until it gets used to it. So don't mind my weird skin please. I sort of look like I've been crying or something.  Should go away soon...
I made the gear hair clippies.

I stole this chart from someone's blog a few days ago...crap I can't remember who, but when I do, I will post it on here! If anyone else knows, tell me!

I used these:
1A
5C
3B
7H
8H
4I

Eyes (all applied in this order):
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Detrivore Eye Primer (applied all around the eye, rubbing in gently with ring finger)
88 shimmer - 4I (applied to crease with MAC 217 by patting/sweeping and blending up and out)
88 shimmer - 8H (applied to outer V, crease and outer half of  upper lid with MAC 239 by patting/sweeping)
88 shimmer - 7H (applied to outer crease with MAC 239 by patting/sweeping)
88 shimmer - 5C (applied to inner half of upper and lower lash line with MAC 228 by patting/sweeping)
88 shimmer - 3B (applied to inner V with MAC 228 by patting/sweeping)
88 shimmer - 1A (applied under brow with MAC 217 by patting/sweeping)
Kryolan Aqua color Liner - black (applied wet with water, using MAC 210 on upper lash line and extending out)
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean (applied to water line with MAC 210)

Ardell 111 lashes

Lips: Fyrinnae Lip Luster in Beloved

Face: Skin MD Shielding lotion
Physicians Formula Healthy Wear SPF 50 Powder in Translucent Light (applied using AL flocked sponge by patting then blending)
Simply Naturals Aloe Vera face powder  (applied with Jumbo Flat Top brush)

I'm still playing catch up on some of your blogs. I'm going through several every morning and a few here and there through out the day when I can. :-D  I just don't want you to think I have forgotten about you!

My thoughts:
I tried to find a video for this particular DVD but couldn't. There doesn't seem to be anything on youtube from what I can tell. I did the pre-programmed kickboxing workout. It's a little over 30 minutes total. The warm up is tai chi, then the middle segments are non-stop kicking/punching combos and some plyometrics, the cool down is some elbow striking while in horse stance (doesn't feel like much of a cool down OMG!), followed with stretching.
This workout is action packed and makes me sweat. It's still not nearly as hard or evil as Cathe's workouts. But like I said, in between the hardcore workouts, I do lighter ones.
Sharon workouts can be awesome or kinda of weird in regards to her instruction. Sometimes she seems all with it while others, she will do something on one side of the body for 16 counts and then do the same thing on the other side for 24 counts. Why? I have no idea but I believe it's a booboo. So whatever mistakes I notice, I adjust myself to make up for it. Other than that, I'd say her DVD's are great for everyone since she offers something for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels. She shows people on the left doing beginner versions of the exercise, on the right shows people doing advanced versions, while Sharon does intermediate in front/center. So depending on how you are feeling, you can go easy on yourself or kick your own butt!

Purple and Brown look + Glitter using Aromaleigh

It's been quite a long time since I've been wanting to try this colour combo. I've seen a small handful of ladies wear it and it looks really nice. I'm not a huge brown person as I feel it looks sort of poopy on me...you know what I mean.
I used purple glitter that IRL fairly matched the purple shadow. But in these pictures, it looks totally different. So I guess my camera captured it differently than how it really looks. Oh well. Here it is.
I made zee earrings.

Workout for 8-10-10 Push Pull

Hello! I didn't have time to post this last night. This is the workout I did:

Workout details:Push Pull is a 45 minute total body workout which features many new and refreshing exercises to keep your muscles stimulated in new ways. The focus of this workout is to promote muscle balance as well as strength and endurance gains through exercise variety and balance challenges. We use the stability ball quite a bit in this workout to create this added balance challenge which in turn promotes even greater muscle recruitment. It's important to point out that when using a stability ball you should use a lighter weight than you typically would for a given exercise since the unstable environment makes the muscles work harder to stabilize. As your body gets acclimated this "wobbly" environment you'll find that you are able to gradually increase your weights again.

The soundtrack to this workout is filled with soft rock classics. Here is a list of the songs:

Walking In Memphis
Freedom
Our Friends Are Electric
Breakfast at Tiffany's
In The Living Years
Dreams
Sleeping Sattelite
This ain't a love song
Missing

Keep in mind that for muscle balance we are doing one muscle group then the opposing muscle group. In most cases this is anterior (front) and posterior (back) but when it comes to shoulders we have both anterior (front delt) and posterior (rear delt) as well as superior (mid/top delt) and inferior (lats) which are directly beneath them.

The exercises for Push Pull are as follows:

Barbell Squats (legs with focus on quads)
Deadlifts (legs with focus on glutes/hamstrings)
Static lunge with heel lifted (legs with focus on quads)
Leg Press (legs with focus on glutes/hamstrings)
Bench press on ball (chest)
Deadrows (back)
flys on ball (chest)
Y's on ball (thats the Push Pull picture where we had our arms going back with thumbs up...for upper back)
Inverted shoulder press on high step (top/mid delt)
One arm row (back/lats which are beneath shoulders)
Front raise on ball (front shoulder)
Rear delt raise on ball (back shoulder)
Bicep curls with ball (biceps)
Slow Dips/immediately to kickbacks (tricep)
Outer thigh on ball
Inner thigh with ball
Superman on ball (low back)
Crunches with ball (abdominals)
Calve raises
Tibialis Anterior w/ball (shins)
Full Body Stretch

You may initially find this workout to be easier since you are learning to make adjustments for the new variety, but once you have worked through this, form and concentration is of the utmost importance for optimal muscle recruitment. Feel free to add sets to any of the exercises for an even greater challenge.

My thoughts:
So this workout the way it is, feels pretty easy to me and it does say that you may find it to be that way. So because of that, I really try to pack on the weight on my barbell and hand weights. I also add on sets/reps for some of the exercises for more of a challenge.
I like this workout because it does save me a little more time. It's about 15-25 mins shorter than my regular workouts. It really works my calves (which is something I need) and has some interestingly hard exercises that require no weights (Y's and inverted shoulder press).
I'd say the only thing I don't like about this workout is the abdominal workout is VERY short and leaves me feeling like I didn't work them out at all. So at the end of the workout, I added on multiple different ab exercises until I felt like I couldn't work them out anymore.
I'm not sore yet, but I have a feeling I will be later.

Gold, Green, Turquoise & Blue look with 88 Shimmer Palette

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been absent. I was gone over the weekend camping again. I have some fun pictures and a video from the trip. But that will be posted at a later time. :-)  Oh, and I have a mean bug bite on my neck line...it looks like a hickey but I swear it's not! It's several days old and still feels awful. So I didn't wear a necklace as I didn't want to irritate it even more. I made zee earrings though.

I decided to play with my shimmer palette because I really like it but often forget about it. I really like it because you can layer and layer the colours. That's not always so easy with mineral shadows.

I used these:
