Practice makeup!

So I have this costume party to go to on Saturday night. It's Mad Science theme. I've been thinking for a few weeks of what to go as. I've bounced around SEVERAL ideas. The thing is, I have some really good ones, but it's difficult to bring them to life. So I thought I would put my makeup skills to work and be a female version of DR. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I figured I should practice the makeup before then so here's what I did.

I used Sobe Botanicals foundation in light cool all over my face.

For the left side I did very classic simple-ish makeup. Used Morgana Cryptoria's lipstick in Apple Plum, Sobe Botanicals duochrome blush in After All, Sobe botanicals Brunette brow powder in the eye crease, Avon black eye liner and black mascara.

I used Sobe Botanicals Raven eye brow powder as the shader and Kryolan cake liner in black for the deep creases.

What do you think???

I imagine the Saturday look to be better as I will be able to spend more time on it.

  6. Ooo I think that this is really interesting! I think that if the lines were blinded out more, it would look even better!

  7. I think this is awesome!! I think the only thing I would change would be to blend out and blur the lines under and to the side of your eye. :)

  8. Whoa! Fun! Although seeing you smile wearing it looks... off. ;) I almost wish there was a way one side (the side with the effects) could be more droopy. Like one side smiles, the other side looks more worn/tired/droopy... You know? Two face that business. ;)

  10. Thank you! I wanted the "gross side" to look as defined as possible. Without the defined lines I just looked tired and dead but not scary. Will do the lines again but with powder instead and see how that does. Can't blend the Kryolan cake liner at all!

Heh heh! Totally smiling in the last one on purpose! But not in the others. I actually want the gross side to look angry not so much tired and droopy. Mr. Hyde was an insane murderer, so I want more evilness to come out. I will be taking my time when I redo this on Saturday. Thinking of either completely concealing the lips and making them look dry and wrinkled...OR painting an evil grin that is bigger than my actual mouth...lotsa options and will play more with it until then. I will post final photos this weekend. :-) I wanna make my hair on that side look nappy and gross too. So fun doing something different!
