Dramatic, Smoky Winged Eyeliner Makeup Look

A couple weekends ago we went to a Toga themed Birthday party. My hubby and I both weren't sure about what to wear. At first, he wanted to go buy cheesy sheets from a thrift store. I was not up for that. Then we thought we'd go to a craft store and get some decent fabric to make our costumes. THEN we decided to just use what we have since we couldn't find any good fabric to use. Jason ended up using some old fabric I had sitting in the garage, untouched for years. That crap was heavy, but he went with it anyway. I went with a sarong/wrap that I bought almost 10 years ago, wore a long black skirt, and used a silver metal belt to keep it in place. I also wore jewelry I already had on hand and went for a sort of Greek Goddess look. I think it turned out okay.

Outfit/OOTD: Black mini bustle dress

This was an outfit from last Saturday. I went to a Birthday party and had to wear something cute! The high collar top/dress and corset were a gift from my husband a few years ago, so I love wearing them together.

Makeup look for this is posted HERE.
Black High Collar bustle shirt/dress: Tambukiki

Black short ruffle skirt (has built in shorts): I got it on eBay but I can't remember what store.

I tend to keep stuff for many years so it's often difficult for me to remember where I got everything. In the event that I do remember exactly where I got something, I will share the link if there is one.

A friend of mine had a thrift Shop Prom Night themed Birthday party. So I dug through my closet and found some stuff to wear and came up with this look for it. We had a lot of fun and stayed way longer than we intended.

American McGee's Alice Costume & Makeup

Happy Halloween! This costume and makeup look is what I wore last Friday and Saturday. My husband DJ's at an event that occurs usually once a month and we had our Halloween Spectacular on the 26th and a friend's house party on the 27th. Both were a lot of fun!

For my costume, I bought an American McGee's Alice dress, an Omega necklace and I used tights and boots I already had. I just happened to be at a Halloween shop that had a knife that was the right size and shape, similar to the Vorpal blade, so I bought it. It's a cheap piece of foam crap and on some parts, the paint was peeling off by the end of the night. Probably partially my fault. I was using it to spank my friends! Ha!

For the eye makeup I used products I already had from Morgana Cryptoria (she makes the best red eyeshadows!). I played both Alice video games like mad, so I felt confident that I could duplicate her makeup fairly well. I decided to go with how she looks in the second game: Madness Returns. In that one, Alice has blackened, smoky rusty red eye makeup with sort of natural glossy lips.  So that is what I went with. I didn't do anything different with my hair except part it down the middle.

Photo to show what she looks like for those of you who are unfamiliar with the game.

My full costume. :-)
